Elinizdeki eser; İbn Arabî’nin Tevhid konusunu ele aldığı, kısa ama içeriği oldukça yoğun bir eserdir. Bu nedenle eser değişik adlarla birçok kez Türkçeye çevrilmiştir. Risâlenin merkezinde Hz. Peygamber’in zikretmiş olduğu Men arefe nefsehu fegad arefe Rabbehu / Nefsini bilen Rabbini bilir hadisi vardır. İbn Arabî, bu hadisten hareketle -öğrencisi ve evlatlığı Konevî tarafından- vahdet-i vücut olarak adlandırılan ve sistemleştirilen Tevhid anlayışını derinlikli ve ufuk açıcı bir şekilde işlemiştir. Tasavvufta La mevcude illa Hu / O’ndan başka varlık yoktur şeklinde ifade bulan nazariye İbn Arabî’nin bu risâlesi ile tedvin olmuş, tahkim bulmuştur.
